Hands-On Review · Drones

The one that started
the sub-250g era.

The DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo weighs about as much as an apple, shoots 4K/30fps, and still holds up as one of the most complete beginner kits DJI has ever bundled. We flew it for two weeks before writing a word of this.

What Stood Out

Everything you need in the box, nothing left to add

The Fly More Combo turns a capable drone into a kit you can shoot with all day.

4K/30fps Video

A 3-axis motorised gimbal keeps footage smooth, with 12MP stills and 4x digital zoom for framing without closing the distance.

3 Batteries, ~93 Minutes Total

Three Intelligent Flight Batteries and a two-way charging hub mean the day rarely ends because the drone did.

OcuSync 2.0, Up to 10km

Strong anti-interference performance for a stable feed well beyond where most people will actually fly.

Sub-249g Body

Folds to fit in one hand and stays under most regions' registration threshold for drones.

Range

A feed that holds up long after you've stopped worrying about it

OcuSync 2.0 keeps a clear live view on your phone even as you push the Mini 2 well past where most flights actually happen.

  • Live view held steady out past 1km in open-field testing
  • No obstacle sensing — this one relies on pilot awareness
  • GPS-assisted auto return-to-home if the signal ever drops
  • Best suited to open spaces rather than tight, cluttered ones

Hands-On Review

DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo — Still one of the most complete beginner kits DJI sells

We carried the Mini 2 for two weeks the way a first-time buyer actually would — one battery in the drone, two spares in the bag, nothing else to think about. It has no obstacle sensing, so we kept it over open ground rather than tree cover, but the 4K footage held up well in daylight and the 10km transmission range never once dropped in an afternoon of flying. Three batteries meant we landed because we were done, not because we had to.
